MARCO POLO DAVAO LIGHTS UP GOLD AND ROSES CHRISTMAS TREE #ShiningAt18

It’s that wonderful time of the year again where twinkling lights and joyful music abound the air – Christmas! And Marco Polo Davao, Mindanao’s premier hotel has glammed its tree in gold and roses this year.

Guests, visitors, blogger and media friends together with the Marco Polo Davao family gathered on Tuesday to officially kick off the Christmas season and the 18th year celebration of the hotel with a lighting ceremony of the fabulous Christmas tree at the hotel lobby.

“We would like to welcome you to our Christmas Lighting Ceremony which also serves as a countdown to the upcoming events of our 18th year celebration and we would not have attained this milestone if not for your unending support to our hotel”, says GM Dottie V. Wurgler-Cronin in her welcome message.

This year’s Marco Polo Davao Christmas tree theme is gold and roses.

It beautifully represents the hotel’s 18th year catchphrase and hashtag #ShiningAt18.

Songspell, a renowned Davao-based performing group composed of kids and young adults, serenaded the guests with their heartwarming and splendid rendition of our favorite Christmas carols.

The hotel lobby packed with smiling guests

And what’s Christmas without delectable and lip-smacking goodies, right? Visit the hotel and catch this tiny ‘grab and go’ food stop at the lobby today. Delicious ensaymada, ménage a trios, handmade garlic chili sauce, handmade chef truffle-infused extra virgin oil with rosemary are few of the awesome choices you can pick and go.

This year’s Marco Polo hamper comes with 10 made-with-love and finely selected items. It comes in a native basket and I was informed they sourced the baskets from the local basket artisans of Lake Sebu in South Cotabato.

When asked why not the usual wooden hamper this year, Sarah Dayrit, the Hotel’s PR and Marketing Officer informed WEV, that this is part of Marco Polo’s thrust to get involve with the community. Sourcing locally made items will support small entrepreneurs and afford them sustainable livelihood.
