Had it not for the awesome peeps I'm with on this trip, I could have called my second day a perfect day and retired quietly. I was so beat! But it might be my adrenalin kicking or possibly the Alaxan with the fastest relief I had at midday (yeah, that's how its gonna be when you're 40, lol) either way, after crossing rivers and trekking T'daan Kini, I was still full of beans and all so disposed for another round of tilapia indulgence. Oh, God help me!
We're having dinner at Estares Lake Resort. It's one of the first resorts that operate in Lake Sebu. Through time they've able to do well in the business, made good relationship with their guests and eventually made a good name bringing about packed bookings in their resort.

All of the resorts we've been around Lake Sebu exudes stillness and calmness and Estares Lake Resort convey the same in a cordial and gracious way. Thought the composed lake really has this humbling magic that draw to serenity every element that settle around it. It's amazing!
Dusk at Estares Lake Resort |
We were served merienda cena by the lake and now missing those moments laughing out loud our lazy time before dinner. Ilonggo anecdotes courtesy of Sir Jon. Oh, for the love of laughter, nahidlaw nako sa imu sige kadlaw, hahaha!
The Twitter Tree. |
I call this the Twitter tree. Was wondering why these birds get so rowdy about the hashtag #prettyme, they sure can't get over me, hahaha... But seriously, if you're that someone who would come down here to slow down, smell the flowers, listen to the birds and the bees, then this a good spot for you to do it. Just note of the time so won't miss hear them sing. Birds sure can sing, trust me.
Estares Lake Resort is a friendly and gracious lake-side resort that radiates peace and contentment. A gentle place that embrace the magical leisure of the tranquility of the mystic lake. And just how lucky would you be if you'll be shared a moment of this laid-back enchantment? Very lucky, I must say.

And dinner was served ... and just as what we've expected, tilapia overload! First on the table;
Pinalupad na Tilapia |
Pinalupad na Tilapia. English translation - flying tilapia. If you haven't heard of one, now you're seeing one ready for action, lol. I like how they expertly carve the tilapia meat to make it look like wings after deep frying. It's comes with sweet and sour sauce and set on fried, crispy sotanghon. So good!
Chicharon Tilapia |
Chicharon Tilapia. Estares prided to be the home of first Chicharon Tilapia in Lake Sebu. Thought there's logic behind this as they're among the first to operate a resto around the lake. And compared to other preps we've tried, there's uses an all-meat tilapia to make chicharon. They serve it without the kropek deception and it's really good. It's one tilapia delicacy you should experience when in Lake Sebu.
Kinilaw na Tilapia |
Kinilaw na Tilapia. To be honest, this is my first time eating Kinilaw na Tilapia. Blame it to tilapia's fishy reputation, if there's such a term for not indulging on this dish in my past life. But the crushed siling labuyu mixed with kalamansi and salt did the trick though. It wasn't that bad at all.
Tinolang Native Chicken. |
Tinolang Native Chicken. Forgive my preconceived notion, but Ilonggos really have the best hands in cooking tinolang native manok served in superlative form. Kanamit-nami guid sang timpla. I luv it!
After dinner, we're all happy, full and wordless bloggers waiting to be drove out to Monte Cielo, when heavy rain began pouring. It was my first rain experience in Lake Sebu and I can feel the rain's anger, it was pouring so hard I was so afraid the roof of the hall might fall off, lol. But it stopped shortly and we bid thank you to our generous hostess for the warm and sumptuous dinner.
Thank you so much Estares Lake Resort for the warm welcome and for the delightful dinner. 'Till we visit again!
