And so we ate crabs the way crabs should be eaten - messy finger lickin’ good! Thank you Blue Posts for having us! with myteenagekidandme.com, riajose.com, davaobase.com and davaofoodtrip.com |
Time really fly so fast. Six months ago I was privileged to get an invite to have a first taste of what Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps has to offer to Davaoeno’s discerning palate. I’m not surprised that in that very short period their unique boiling bag cooking technique blended in with their signature Cajun Spiced Sauce (CSS), that makes every meal an unforgettable experience, has become one of the most sought after crabs and shrimps food destinations in Davao City.
On June 14, 2014, Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps will open its second branch at the ground level of Lanang Business Park in Km 7, Lanang, Davao City. It’s conveniently located between the showroom of Kia and Ford. It’s a modern building with ample space for parking making it a perfect dining place for family gatherings and business meetings.
It has a relaxed ambiance and still has the same fishing characters that resembles their first branch just a kilometer away. As we all know, Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps does not do plates and kubyertos in their restos. They’ll let you eat crabs the way crabs should be eaten – messy finger licking meal experience all spread down on the table. You can read my previous post about our so-good-messy-finger meal experience here.
Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps second branch still offer the same signature crabs and shrimps goodness as they have in their first branch. And just the same, you get to choose your notch of spiciness in your bag. I haven’t worked on leveling up my spicy food tolerance yet, (like as if I'm working on it, lol) so I’m still stuck with the mild side, my safe side.
But if you can’t put up with Spicy Cajun in your mouth, there’s always a sweeter option. This is another new from Blue Posts – the Malaysian inspired Buttered Cereal Shrimps. Yes, some cereal in your shrimp. How’s that? Actually, I really like it a lot. It's still the usual succulent, freshly fried with soft, juicy goodness in the inside shrimp but it’s generously bedded with crunchy, sweet and savory cereal. After my first try, I’m certain I can live with just the cereal alone. It’s real good that even after we’ve wind down I keep dipping my wet fingers on the crumbs and plummet it in my mouth. You should try this!
Another addition to their menu is the Garlic Pork Riblets. If you’re used to having greasy and bbquey type of pork riblets, then this is something you should explore for a change. It’s greaseless and savory. The liberal helping of tanned garlic on it, added to its flavorsome goodness will you keep nibbling a piece to the bone. If you’re dining with children who can’t share the spicy crab with you, this nibbler is perfect for them.
And here’s some good news!
As a way to thank their growing number of diners and would-be ones, that has surprisingly surpassed the expectation of Anthony and Jen Ang, the generous owners. Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps is offering Shrimp Unlimited for only P399.00 for the next six months. Come and dine from 2 to 5pm on weekdays and get yourself treated to unlimited shrimp goodness. Have it in a boiling bag and choose just the way you want your shrimps to be – regular, mild, hot or extra hot! And oh, don’t forget to have add-ons on it for extra speck and taste, your choice of corn in a cob, sausage or potato.
And so, the next time you’re in Davao City; don’t leave life here without having to experience the hottest meal of your life. Have it at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps.
