We all know how excited kids are before they head off abroad for a summer holiday, counting down the days until they arrive in the resort ready to splash in the pool and dig for treasure on the beach. While all inclusive breaks by Direct Holidays provide pretty much everything you could possibly need for a successful trip, if you did choose to enjoy an excursion or a couple of days out, Gran Canaria holidays are ideally suited for child-friendly trips.
Plus, with many of the popular family
resorts located with a cab ride of eachother on the south of the island, you’re
not too far from any of the activities that would be perfect to keep the little
ones occupied.
Camel
Rides
The Maspalomas sand dunes are a wonderful
natural attraction in the south of the island and what better way for kids and
parents to explore them than atop the Ship of the Desert? Seats either side of
the camel are fitted so that you don’t have to worry about uncomfortable
straddling – all you and the kids need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!
Palmitos
Park
It’s strange to think that in the heart of
the barren mountains on the outskirts of Maspalomas is a lush green wonderland
that is home to various wildlife and beautiful sights. From the orang-utan and
gibbons to the flamingos and meerkats, kids will love it here. Make sure that
you make some time for the fun parrot show and a trip to the new addition, the
Dolphinarium. Pay 20EUR and you can get a photograph taken with these superb
creatures, before watching them perform tricks in gracious style.
Aqualand
You can buy combitickets that include entry
to the waterpark and Palmitos Park, saving you a bundle on entrance fees.
Aqualand can be found between Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles and, with the
slides and chutes in store, kids will be in their element.
Start planning your holiday in the Canaries
today and look forward to some summer sun.
